5w-30 has a better viscosity range for your year motor (be it the v-6 or v-8)

Honestly, i would rather use 10w-30 Mobile 1 synthetic oil. It's a lot better than regular oil and you don't have to change it as often. Instead of every 3000 miles, you can actually go 5000 to 6000 miles between oil changes. Plus it protects your engine better and helps extend the life of your engine.
